IMG_20140404_183149_743 IMG_20140404_183207_335OK, so first I found this bench and chaise lounge for FREE on Craigslist! Sweet, right? I did this spraypaint paint job on the bench with an “aged bronze” color, hoping to find some brown cushions that would really make the whole thing come together. However, the size of the bench is so unusual that finding cushions proved difficult.

While searching for cushions, I got distracted and began looking at other types of patio furniture. I love the way wood patio items can so easily match the design of our house! At some point, I’d like to replace our entire set with a teak wood set. But for now…

I found this bench almost-brand-new on Craigslist for only $80, including the two bottom cushions! I’m thinking some oversized outdoor pillows (preferably brown) will complete the look, and I may even make them. The woman who had bought the bench had realized it was too large for the space she intended it for, but she’d already assembled the bench and couldn’t return it! Her loss was our gain.IMG_20140404_183142_778

The bench is a very lightweight wood, which made it easy to carry up the stairs to the back yard! Just one little piece of furniture is making a huge difference in that naked area already…. Oh, and yeah, it already has bird poop on it. Cleanup in aisle 9!
