Garage Organization Before and After

One side of the garage had basically turned into a pile of tools. Rakes, shovels, cables, edger, lawnmower all just leaned over each other. We found it difficult to locate tools when we needed them, and to remove them from the pile without knocking everything else over!

At Ross, I found a garage wall organizer for $12 (online the same organizer retails for around $50). I purchased it, then went to another Ross to see if more were available. Luckily, I found another!

IMG_20140517_142525_084In order to install these into the concrete wall, we had to first mount boards to the wall. We used masonry drill bits to prepare holes and massive masonry screws to anchor the boards. Then we just screwed the organizers on! The grabbing hooks are perfect for all of the long-handled tools we use, since we can pop the tools in and out, and the forked areas work well for hoses and extension cords. Oh, and no, we don’t have two edger/trimmers… we’d just gotten a new battery-operated one at the time of this photo and sold the old corded one!

The next organization project is the basement, since we use those tools for all our other projects!IMG_20140517_144244_805
