Restored Copper Hardware in Laundry Room

IMG_0941 IMG_0970Using the crock pot paint stripping technique, I was able to strip all the hardware on the laundry room windows (except the hinges). Upon moving in, we found that most of the hardware (including the chains) had been painted over so many times that it couldn’t even move. Many of the flathead screws were stripped, which caused some difficulty!

IMG_0965I reinstalled the hardware using brass screws, which I should have aged with my brass aging solution before installing. However, not to worry- a little Spanish Copper Rub N Buff did the trick!

The pass-through hallway is getting nicer bit by bit. This hardware might never get noticed by anyone but me, but it certainly functions better now as well.IMG_0969
